# Financial Setup History

> See who changed the Financial Setup screen, when, and what they changed.

### **Business Value**

* Records every change to settings that control GL periods.
* Shows the old value and the new value side by side.
* Names the user who made each change.
* Keeps each property's history separate.

### **Use Cases**

* A financial controller finds who made last month's GL period unrestricted.
* An auditor checks when the financial year start month was changed.
* A chief accountant confirms a setting was put back after the year-end close.

### **How It Works**

| **Where:** Settings → Back Office → Financial Setup → History |

Financial Setup controls settings for every financial period:

* The month the financial year starts.
* The Hijri financial year start.
* **Ability to Edit GL Period**: Restricted or Unrestricted.
* The months that are unrestricted.

Before, there was no record of who changed these settings, or when.

#### **The History Button**

Financial Setup now has a **History** button. It works like the History button on other Back Office screens.

#### **What the History Shows**

| **Column** | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Date/time** | When the change was saved. |
| **User** | Who saved the change. |
| **Action** | What changed. |

* The newest change comes first.
* The list has pages.
* Each save makes one entry. It lists only the fields that changed.
* Each change reads: *field* changed from *old value* to *new value*.
* Months show as names, not numbers.

For example: *Ability to Edit GL Period changed from Restricted to Unrestricted*.

#### **Who Can See It**

* Only users who can open Financial Setup can see its history.
* Each property sees its own history only.
