# STR Daily Data Submission

> Send your hotel's daily room and revenue figures to STR automatically after Night Turn.

### **How It Works**

STR (Smith Travel Research) is part of the CoStar Group. It compares your hotel's results with the market. Before, you typed your daily figures into STR's portal. Now kwentra sends them for you.

The STR menu has two screens: **Integration Setup** and **Logs**.

#### **Before You Start**

You need your hotel's **STR Census ID**. STR gives you this number when you join its benchmarking program. If you do not have it, ask your STR account representative.

#### **1. Integration Setup**

1. Go to **Settings → Integrations → STR → Integration Setup**.
2. Enter your **STR Census ID**.
3. Leave **Chain Code** as **KWENTRA**, unless STR tells you to change it.
4. Turn on **Enable daily submission to STR**.
5. Click **Save**. You see the message **Credentials saved successfully**.

| **Field** | What it is |

| **STR Census ID** | Required. Your hotel's ID in STR. STR gives it to you. |
| **Chain Code** | Required. Filled in with **KWENTRA**. |
| **Enable daily submission to STR** | Turns the daily submission on. It is off by default. |

To stop sending data at any time:

* Turn off **Enable daily submission to STR** and click **Save**.
* Or click **Delete Credentials** to remove the whole setup.

#### **2. What Is Sent Every Night**

When Night Turn finishes, the closed day's figures go to STR. This happens once for each business day, and only when the submission is on.

Only hotel totals are sent. Guest names and reservation details are never sent.

| **Figure** | What it counts |
| - | - |
| **Rooms Available** | The hotel's room count for the day. |
| **Rooms Sold** | Rooms occupied that night. Complimentary and house use rooms are included. |
| **Comp Rooms** | Complimentary and house use rooms. Sent as 0 when there are none. |
| **Room Revenue** | Net revenue of the departments in the rooms revenue group. |
| **F\&B Revenue** | Net revenue of the departments in the F\&B revenue group. |
| **Total Revenue** | Net revenue of all revenue departments. |
| **Currency** | The hotel's base currency. |

* **Net revenue** is gross minus deductions such as VAT, municipality fee and service charge.
* Deductions follow your hotel's setup. Net revenue matches your income reports.
* STR works out paid occupancy by taking Comp Rooms away from Rooms Sold.
* Total Revenue includes other revenue, such as spa and laundry.

| **Note:** A day closed by Night Turn is locked. So the figures sent are final and never need a correction. |

| **Note:** If a submission fails, Night Turn still finishes as normal. The failure is saved in the Logs. |

#### **3. Logs**

The Logs screen shows every submission. Each row is one submission.

Search with **Start Date**, **End Date** and **Status** (All, Success or Failed).

| **Column** | What it shows |

| **Business Date** | The day the figures belong to. |
| **Sent At** | When the figures were sent. |
| **Status** | **Success** means STR accepted the figures. **Failed** means STR rejected them. |
| **Request** | The data that was sent. Click the cell to see it. |
| **Response** | STR's reply. Click the cell to see it. |
