# Tax Breakdown Fields on the Registration Card

> Custom registration card templates can now show each night's net, every tax by name, and the gross — including the municipality accommodation fee.

Custom registration card templates can now show each night's net, every tax by name, and the gross.

### **Business Value**

* Meets municipality inspections that ask for fees on the card.
* Names each tax on its own, instead of one merged total.
* Splits every night into net, tax and gross.
* Agrees with the proforma invoice for the same reservation.
* Shows each night, so a mid-stay rate change stays clear.

### **Use Cases**

* Front office manager asks support to add the municipality fee to the card.
* An inspector checks one night's fee against the printed card.
* Reservations agent prints a card on arrival day and sees the whole stay.

### **How It Works**

| **Where:** Front Office → Individual reservations → \[Open Reservation] → Registration Card |
| - |

A municipality inspector asked one property to show the tax and accommodation fees on the card. The room rate alone was not enough. Before, the data sent to registration card templates held no tax information at all. No template could show it.

| **Note:** A figure shows on your card only if your template uses it. **The default card does not change.** Contact [support@kwentra.com](mailto:support@kwentra.com) to update your template. See [User Templates & Custom Uploads](/settings/general-settings/user-templates-custom-uploads). |

#### **Per-Night Fields**

| Field | What it shows |
| - | - |
| **Date** | The night. |
| **Net** | The night's rate before tax. |
| **Each tax** | The tax name and its amount for that night. |
| **Gross** | The night's rate with tax. |

#### **Stay Totals**

* Total net for the stay.
* A total for each tax.
* Total gross for the stay.
* The tax names in the stay, in a fixed order. A template can use this to build one column per tax.
* The currency of the figures.

#### **How Taxes Are Named**

* Each tax uses its tax department name, such as `VAT 15%` or `Municipality Fee 2.5%`.
* Taxes included in the rate and taxes added on top both appear.
* A night shows only the taxes that apply to it.
* There is no single merged **Taxes** figure. An inspector needs each fee named.

#### **What the Figures Cover**

* The room charge and the packages included in it.
* Add-on packages and fixed charges are left out.
* Net plus taxes equals gross on every night and on the total.

#### **Posted and Unposted Nights**

The figures show the stay as it will be charged.

* Nights not yet charged use the stored accommodation breakdown.
* Nights already charged use their posted charges.
* A card printed on arrival day shows the whole stay.
* A card printed mid-stay shows both kinds of night.
* The figures agree with the proforma invoice for the same reservation.

| **Note:** A reservation can have no taxes on its rate departments. It still gets a net and a gross for each night, with no tax lines. |
| - |

#### **Printing Several Cards**

Printing cards in bulk keeps each breakdown with its own reservation.

#### **What Does Not Change**

* The default registration card's layout.
* The total and average daily rate already on the card.
* How tax is worked out, set up or posted.
* Group registration cards.
* Folio and invoice templates, which already show tax detail.

| **Note:** An accommodation fee is an ordinary tax on the rate's department. A property that has not set one up needs a configuration change, not this update. |
