Whether you would like to add a package to be included in the daily charge of a rate or to be sold as a cross-selling option on top of the daily rate charge, you will need to add the package itself first to your settings. Front Office → Settings Gear Sign → Front Office → Packages → Packages The below page would appear wherein we can Search for a specific package to Edit or we can Add New Package. The list of packages are available at the bottom, to Edit any package simply click on it.
a package is a separate entry from the rate which means that all packages whether they are included in the rate or sold as supplement will be added from the same steps.
Click on Add new and fill all mandatory fields.
  • Code: a numeric or letter code to identify the package i.e. Breakfast / Bike Rental
  • Description: a text to describe the package you are adding.
  • Start & End Date: define a start and end date for this package which must be similar to the rate code dates.
  • Department: the revenue department you would like the charges of this package to appear under in the billing process i.e. breakfast charges / activities charges / laundry services etc.
  • Currency: the currency you would like this package to charge the guests with.
  • Package type: you get two options with this field, either per person packages or per reservation packages
Per Person: you would find the package price is grayed out while Adult price and child price are editable, meaning that this package will charge your guest based on the number of adults and children on the reservation i.e. all the meals packages are on per person basis. Per Reservation: you would find the adult & child price is grayed out while Package Price is editable, meaning that this package will charge your guest based on the number of packages sold on the reservation and not the number of guests i.e. Airport Transfer packages charge based on the ride and not the number of people on the reservation.
  • Meal: whenever you are adding a package that is linked to a meal, you must define which meal exactly in order to reflect properly on your meal plan reports.
  • Apply to: the most common selection is apply to all nights which is used for all meals packages; Read more about
  • Public checkbox: you don’t have to open each rate plan and link the add-on package to it, simply highlight this checkbox and you will be able to cross-sell this package with any rate on the system.
Example for a per person package that applies to all nights of a reservation: Example for a per reservation package that its charges only applies to the first & last nights of the reservation: Don’t forget to click savefrom the bottom of the screen so you don’t lose your settings.________________________________________________________________Link the package to a rate plan: Now that we’ve added the package we desire, it’s time to link it to a rate. First, we need to find the rate desired to link with the new package we added. Front Office → Settings Gear Sign → Front Office → Rates → Rate Definitions → Select a Rate You would find all your rates in one place to choose from as above, click on the rate you desire to link the packages with. Now you get to choose whether to link the package to be included in the daily rate or to be sold as a supplement on top of the daily rate: Anything under Packages in included in the rate plan. Anything under Add On Packages is sold separate from the rate plan. In the below scenario, the breakfast is included in the rate. If the daily rate is 100 USD and the breakfast is 20 USD this means that the revenue going to the room charge is 80 USD and the breakfast revenue is 20 USD. The airport transfer will trigger more revenue to your hotel when you sell it as a supplement for the guest whenever they request it. Click on Save for the settings to reflect properly.
