Business Value
- Ends typing daily figures into the STR portal by hand.
- Sends the closed day’s figures every night with no manual work.
- Uses the same net revenue as your income reports.
- Sends hotel totals only, never guest names or reservation details.
- Shows every submission and STR’s reply on one screen.
- Never stops or delays Night Turn.
Use Cases
- A revenue manager turns on STR once and stops using the STR portal.
- An accountant opens the logs and sees why last night’s submission failed.
- A general manager compares the hotel with the market, using figures from kwentra.
How It Works
STR (Smith Travel Research) is part of the CoStar Group. It compares your hotel’s results with the market. Before, you typed your daily figures into STR’s portal. Now kwentra sends them for you.
The STR menu has two screens: Integration Setup and Logs.
Before You Start
You need your hotel’s STR Census ID. STR gives you this number when you join its benchmarking program. If you do not have it, ask your STR account representative.1. Integration Setup
- Go to Settings → Integrations → STR → Integration Setup.
- Enter your STR Census ID.
- Leave Chain Code as KWENTRA, unless STR tells you to change it.
- Turn on Enable daily submission to STR.
- Click Save. You see the message Credentials saved successfully.
To stop sending data at any time:
- Turn off Enable daily submission to STR and click Save.
- Or click Delete Credentials to remove the whole setup.
2. What Is Sent Every Night
When Night Turn finishes, the closed day’s figures go to STR. This happens once for each business day, and only when the submission is on. Only hotel totals are sent. Guest names and reservation details are never sent.- Net revenue is gross minus deductions such as VAT, municipality fee and service charge.
- Deductions follow your hotel’s setup. Net revenue matches your income reports.
- STR works out paid occupancy by taking Comp Rooms away from Rooms Sold.
- Total Revenue includes other revenue, such as spa and laundry.
