Business Value
- Replaces running the Market Segment report per hotel and adding it up.
- Shows which markets, sources and channels bring business to the group.
- Works out ADR, selling rate and occupancy from group totals.
- Stops the run when hotels use different currencies.
- Opens only for users with the report’s own permission.
Use Cases
- A consolidated GM compares corporate and leisure business across all hotels.
- A financial controller checks which channel brings the group the most room revenue.
- A multi-property night auditor downloads the group’s segment figures in one file.
How It Works
Running the Report
The parameters are the same as the single-hotel Market Segment report. These include the dates, Level of details, Reservation confirmation and Include paymaster charges. Two things are different:- The report downloads as Excel only. There is no preview on screen.
All Hotels Must Use One Currency
When you download, the system checks the default currency of each hotel in the run. These are the hotels you picked, or all hotels when Hotels is empty. If the currencies differ, the report does not run. You see this message: All selected instances must have the same default currency. Amounts are added as they are. There is no currency conversion.Report Layout
The layout matches the single-hotel report.- The header lists the names of the selected hotels. It also shows the user, run date and parameters.
- The first column is Rooms. Then come Room Rev, F&B Rev, Laundry Rev, Transportation Rev, Other Rev and Non Hotel Rev. The last columns are ADR, OCC%, Adults, Children and Selling rate.
- Market rows are in bold. Source rows sit under their market. Channel rows sit under their source.
- Each parent row equals the sum of the rows under it.
- Level of details sets how deep the list goes: Markets, Sources or Channels.
- A shaded Total row ends the sheet.
The DMY Version
Market Segment DMY Consolidated is in the same menu. It works the same way across your hotels.- It keeps the same Market, Source and Channel tree.
- The block of columns is repeated for Day, Month and Year.
- It matches the single-hotel Market Segment DMY report.
How Rows Are Matched
- Markets, sources and channels are matched by name across hotels.
- The same name in two hotels makes one row.
- If the names are different in any way, you get two rows.
How the Figures Are Combined
- In-order rooms is the sum for all selected hotels. For each hotel, it is active rooms × nights, minus out-of-order room nights.
- Market, source and channel rows all use the in-order rooms of the whole selection.
- Each figure means the same as in the single-hotel report.
