In the scenario where you have a guest calling/inquiring about a reservation and they are interested in making an unconfirmed reservation due to not being sure whether they will be coming or not, you would like to create the reservation for them and put it on an On-Hold status until they call back to confirm or decline the reservation. The On Hold Reservation feature makes your life easier by defaulting a certain time and date where this reservation will be cancelled automatically if the reservation was not confirmed by the guest and the On-Hold Marker was not removed by the front desk team.
  1. or the reservation you would like to put on hold.
  2. Scroll to the Hold Checkbox and click on it.
  3. Select the date you would like the reservation to get cancelled if it was not confirmed.
  4. Save your reservation.
In that way, when the date & time comes and the reservation is still on hold, it will get cancelled automatically. If the guest called and confirmed their reservation, front desk/receptionists should remove the Hold Checkbox from the reservation so it wouldn’t get cancelled automatically.
